The 1860 census of Clarke County. Mississippi, was conducted by S. M. HAMILTON, from 9 Jun - 6 Aug 1860. Most names were entered using initials only, which may present some research problems. Also, many names (including places, occupation titles, etc) were spelled as they sounded to the enumerator. This caused several variations of spelling in some names. With the exception of a few punctuation additions and other minor changes, this extract is basically the same as the original.

The census has been split into 16 files as follows:
I compiled this extraction years ago from my personally owned microfilm copy of the original census record.
A word of caution about this compilation: Every effort has been made to copy the
data accurately; however, I cannot promise the extraction to be error-free. I
strongly urge you to consult a microfilm copy of the original census records, if possible
