The State of Alabama )
Choctaw County ) To the Honorable B. H. WARREN, Judge of Probate
of said county, the petition of L. J. MOONEY, respectfully showeth unto your
honor, that he was duly appointed by this Honorable Court, to the administration of
the estate of Editha TIMS, deceased, on the 19th day of Oct 1877, and that he
immediately proceeded to examine and to take possession of the assets of said estate,
and that he has the same inventoried, appraised and returned to this court, as the
law directs, in the course of which examination the petitioner found that said estate
was possessed of (BWW's note: The list of personal property is repeated here and continued
on Page 376) .....and 60 bushels of corn, which property is of a perishable nature and
liable to waste. In consideration of all which your petitioner states that it is
manifest that it will be beneficial to the interests of said estate, to have said
property sold at as early a day as possible, wherefore your petitioner prays your honor
to grant an order of sale of said property, for cash, on the premises of said deceased,
& as in duty bound, & c.

The undersigned, the Administrator of the estate of
Editha TIMS, deceased, begs leave to report to Your Honor, that on the 26th day
of November 1877, he proceeded and sold the articles hereinafter enumerated at auction
on the premises of the late deceased, to the highest bidder and for cash, after having
first given three weeks notice of the time, place and terms of the sale, together with
a description of the property, by posting notices on the court house door, and three
other public places in this county, to wit:
