Introduction
Enterprise Cemetery is located on North St., Enterprise, Clarke Co., MS. The information contained herein was obtained by walking the cemetery row by row and copying inscriptions on each visible stone; however, perhaps the most important part of this compilation is the information obtained from an old ledger maintained by Rev. Albert Barge COIT during the late 1800's and until his death in 1918. This detailed record provided birth and death dates on a number of persons interred in the cemetery for which no stones or other marking existed when this compilation was done in 2001-2002. The information obtained from the old record is shown in italics for this compilation. Some lots were previously enclosed by iron fences and where this is indicated in italics, it refers to the old record and may or may not be the case today. A special thanks to Mr. James Robert KAMPER of Enterprise who gave so freely of his time to help me locate the lots and compare the old records with my compilation in order to find out where the new info needed to be shown. Without his help, the tedious job of locating these lots from the old records would have been virtually impossible. I am deeply indebted to him for his invaluable assistance.
