Since my teenage years, I have always been interested in cars. From my humble beginnings in high school driving my parents' 1954 Chevy 4 DR Sedan, straight 6, standard shift on the column, I went on to own some of the great sports cars of the 1960's and early 1970's. I am going to highlight some of these vehicles in this little memorial. During the years 1959-1989, I owned a number of cars. This list does not include all the "second" cars and "family" cars we owned (my wife & I). Among those which won't appear here are: 1955 Chevy (used), 1956 Buick (used), 1966 Chevelle (used), 1972 Olds Cutlass Supreme (new), 1978 Datsun (used), 1984 Buick Riviera (used), 1987 Nissan (new), 1989 Ford Thunderbird (used), 1992 Cadillac DeVille (used), 1993 Chevrolet Lumina (new), just to name a few (doesn't include the vehicles we bought for our sons).

I know different folks have different tastes, but for the life of me I just can't understand why some young people (past and present) don't (or didn't) care about owning a "hot" car. If any of you have seen the movie, American Graffiti (I've lost count on how many times I have watched it!), you know what I mean. Crusing around in some great looking wheels was "where it was at." Although I am now in the "senior citizen" category, I am still and will always be a "fanatic" when it comes to automobiles, including NASCAR racing. All of the cars I have included here have many stories to tell. I could write a book! I will cherish the memories associated with these cars for as long as I live. If I had to pick one car from the below list that I enjoyed the most, it would have to be the 1970 Chevelle. It was a horse!
