Edwin Sage FORD, 73, Houston, MS, passed away 27 Dec. Services conducted at his residence, 3:30, Wednesday
morning (Time must be wrong!) by the Rev. W. C. Stewart. Born in Quitman, MS. Consistent member of the
Houston Baptist Church. Before retirement, was a valuable member of the M. and O. R. R. as station agent. Remains
brought to State Line on M. and O. No. 15, Wednesday, accompanied by relatives and friends. Short service conducted
by the grave by Rev. N. A. Edmonds, Shubuta Baptist Church, assisted by Rev. W. W. Moore, pastor of State Line
Baptist church. Survivors - three daughters, Miss Orin FORD and Mrs. J. Rice WILLIAMS, Houston, MS;
Mrs. A. W. FUTVOYE, Shuqualak, MS. Laid to rest by side of wife, who died May, 1921. Pallbearers - M. M.
Reynolds, E. V. Merrill, Marvin Lucas, J. K. Hartley, W. E. Irby, Harris Burney. Interment in State Line cemetery.

George W. JORDAN, 63, Quitman, passed away at his home yesterday. Was a barber by trade. Had been in declining
health for sometime. Survivors - widow, Mrs. Lilla HUNT; one daughter, Mrs. Louise EVANS; four sons,
B. L., New York; George and Luther, Chicago; James J., Quitman; two grandchildren; two
brothers; one sister. Funeral arrangements have not been completed as yet.

Pete SAUNDERS, one of the most faithful colored laborers in the employ of the Long-Bell Lumber Co., died at
his home in Quitman, Wednesday night. Had been an employee of the Long-Bell Lumber Co. almost from the time the
big concern began operations in this county. Has been employed on the pond where all the car-loads of logs have
been dumped in order to be carried to the saws; and in his humble capacity he has won the esteem and confidence
of all, white and colored alike, and his death causes everybody unfeigned grief.

Joseph Albert NEELY, 67, passed away 24 Jan after a lingering illness. Was a widower. Born in AL but removed
to this state several years ago. He was a farmer until disease resulted in his inactivity. Funeral services
conducted from the family residence (the old Edmiston home in Quitman. Burial in DeSoto cemetery. Survivors -
Cecil, John, Helen, Emogene of Quitman; Mrs. S. J. LEE, DeSoto; Horace, Carmichael; Nettie,
Quitman. Kirkland Funeral Home, Inc. in charge.

J. J. NEELY departed this life 24 Jan 1933, after an illness of several months. He knew everything
until Monday afternoon at noon when he fell asleep and seemed perfectly easy up until death. His last
request was for his children to live right and meet him in Heaven. Born 12 Jan 1866. Rather of eight
children - Cecil, John, and Joe, Quitman; Horace, Carmichael; Mrs. S. J. LEE,
DeSoto; Helen NEELY, Stonewall; Nettie and Emogene, Quitman. Wife departed this
life 27 Jan 1929. Funeral services held at his home Wednesday afternoon by Revs. B. C. Land and
W. H. Saunders. Interment in DeSoto cemetery.

After a lingering illness of several months, Miss Ruth NEELY, 33, Crandall, passed away at the home of
her parents at Crandall, 4 Feb. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. S. O. NEELY. Besides her parents, survived
by other relatives and a host of friends and admirers. Funeral services conducted by Rev. Cliff Johnston,
assisted by several other ministers. Burail in Elim cemetery 5 Feb,
3 PM. Pallbearers - Leo and Julian Slay, Jesse Smith, Wiley and Cleetus McHenry, Champ Williams.
Honorary pallbearers were members of the local B. Y. P. U. Kirkland Funeral Home, Inc. in charge of
arrangements.

Shubuta -- Mrs. Sallie HAILES, 75, life long resident of Clarke Co., passed away at her home last
Saturday night. Services conducted Sunday afternoon at 3:30, Hepzibah Baptist church, of which she had been
a consistent member for 43 years, Rev. N. A. Edmonds, pastor of Shubuta Baptist Church, officiating.
Survivors - husband, Elias HAILES; five sons, Henry, Alex, Elias, Jr., Johnnie, Michael;
two daughters, Mrs. J. W. CARMICHAEL and Mrs. L. N. MIXON; 17 grandchildren. Pallbearers -
C. D. Bodie, E. C. Moody, M. B. Moseley, C. E. Gandy. E. H. Stallings, J. G. Flowers. Interment in
church cemetery. W. J. Patton in charge.

Mr. Russell PUGH, son of Mr. Walter PUGH of the Fallen Creek neighborhood, died in a Meridian
hospital Sunday, 12 Feb, following an operation. Boby brought to Harmony community for burial Monday, 13
Feb. Services conducted by Rev. B. C. Land, pastor of the Quitman Baptist church, Monday morning, 13
Feb. Body laid to rest in Harmony cemetery. Member of Harmony Baptist church.

Keeling TROTTER
CCT, Friday, 17 Feb 1933
Shubuta - Keeling TROTTER, 75, died at his home about three miles east of Shubuta. Funeral services
and interment took place in Bishop cemetery, near Hiwannee, Rev. H. L. Norton, pastor of Shubuta M. E.
church, performing the rites. Was from an old family; father, Gen. William TROTTER was a man of
considerable wealth, owning a spacious and beautiful home in Quitman, which is still standing. After
father's death, came to Shubuta and made his home with his cousin, Alex TROTTER, later moving to
Wayne Co., where he made his gome until the time of his death. Survivors - three daughters, Mrs.
Make DUVALL, Mrs. L. CHAPMAN, Mrs. Bill CHAPMAN, Chapperrall, MS; several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers - Robert Jones, L. G. Chapman, Earl Duvall, J. L. Chapman, Newt Atkinson, Thomas Collins.

Clarke Co. loses another pioneer in the death of T. A. BLAIR, 78, Shubuta, who passed away at his home the
first of the week. Survivors - widow and 10 children, one of whom, W. E. BLAIR, is a citizen Quitman.
Funeral services and burial were in Shubuta.
