Mr. and Mrs. W. L. HANEY

Mr. W. L. HANEY, Hinton, AL, near Clarke, died Monday, 11 Mar, at his home and was buried the following day. Mrs. HANEY attended the funeral and came back to her daughter's (Mrs. Josh CARNEY) to spend the night; where she too was stricken with an illness which resulted in her death two hours after her husband's body was laid to rest. Both were buried at Antioch Cemetery. Survivors - four daughters and three sons, Willie Mae, Lillie Mae, Vaoma, Rolland, Floyd, Woodrow. Mrs. HANEY is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Jim WILSON; one brother, Will CARNEY, both of Hinton, AL. S. E. MUSE, 65, died of acute indigestion, at his home south of Enterprise on the river road at 8:30 p. m. Sunday; buried in cemetery at Enterprise, 10 a. m. Wednesday, 13 Mar. Born and raised in Kentucky, moving to Enterprise about 17 years ago. First wife died about four or five years ago. He re-married a few months before his death. Survivors - widow, three brothers in Kentucky, two in Jackson, MS; sister Mrs. GAINES, Denver, CO; other relatives in MS and KY. Rev. J. C. Clark of Waynesboro officiated. Mrs. Sue McGOWAN ADAMS, 48, who was born and reared near Quitman, MS, died in a Meridian hospital last Sunday as a result of burns received when her clothing ignited when she was standing before an open fire. Tragedy occurred at home of sister, Mrs. Robert LAND, in Melvin, where she was visiting. She was the widow of Mr. Horace ADAMS. Monday night about 7 o'clock after a long illness the mother of Lonnie LONG passed away at her home in AL. She was 84 years old; widow of Wm. LONG. Survivors - two daughters, Mesdames Nettie COLLINS and Lettie SATCHER of Crandall, Rt. 3; 14 grandchildren. Funeral services and burial at old Hebron church cemetery and were conducted by Revs. Morgan and Johnston. Pallbearers - T. S. Funeral services and interment held at Davall (sic) Community Wednesday, 2 PM, for P. C. DUVALL, 75, who died of pneumonia. Rev. Thames of Quitman, his pastor, conducted the services. Survivors - widow, 14 children, 22 grandchildren. W. J. Patton in charge.

Lonnie GREEN, Pachuta, a member of the corps of workers at CCC camps near Quitman, was burned to death last Saturday morning when the Pachuta Hotel was totally destroyed by fire. It is supposed that Mr. Green became unconsciously suffocatd and that perhaps he never realized the building was on fire. His charged body, burned beyond recognition, was found in the ruins of the hotel. Survivors - two brothers, E. J. GREEN and Eddie M. GREEN, Pachuta; sister, Mrs. McKinley ROGERS, Petal; sister-in-law, Mrs. Percy CULPEPPER, Meridian. Parents of the deceased, Mr. and Mrs. E. J. GREEN, Pachuta, died several years ago. Funeral services held at Pachuta, Sunday, 2:30 PM, Revs. Baggett, Methodist pastor, and J. E. Wills, Baptist pastor, officiating. By virtue of the deceased's connection with the CCC camp near here, he was given a military burial. Pallbearers - Frank Couch, Roy Altman, Hoke Ahbrose, Coley Todd, Edd Fennell, Billie Givins. (Note: There were 20 honorary pallbearers listed, all CCC workers). McClellan Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Also a niece of Mrs. O. B. KITTRELL. Was daughter of Rev. and Mrs. W. B. COVINGTON of Texarkana, who are well known in Meridian.
