of Scottsboro, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Cecil CHILDRESS, Scottsboro, Friday, 11 Jan 1946,
4:20 PM. Funeral held at First Methodist Church, Scottsboro, 2 PM, Sunday afternoon, with the pastor,
Rev. C. C. Turner, conductin. Burial in Cedar Hill cemetery, with Word Funeral Home in charge. Survivors -
husband; two daughters, Mrs. CHILDRESS, Scottsboro, AL; Miss Christine JENKINS, Quitman, MS;
one brother, David MONTROSE, Henderson, TX; Mrs. Mary CARTER, Bridgeport. Mrs. Jenkins
came to Scottsboro to visit her daughter for the holidays and was stricken with paaralysis from which she
contracted pneumonia. Native of Scottsboro community and resided here with her family until they moved
to MS several years ago and since that time had made frequent visits here to be with her daughter, other
relatives and many local friends.
