In early life, he was a slave of the WINSTON family. Held in esteem by those who knew

Mt. Olive church, 11 AM, with the pastor, Rev. Goff, officiating. Interment in church
cemetery. Father of 12 children, 11 of whom survive; 65 grandchildren; 83 great
grandchildren.

Early Odell DIAMOND, 46, Quitman, died Tuesday, 3:30 AM, of injuries sustained in a
truck accident near his home. Reports state Diamond, a WWII veteran, was returning to
Quitman after attending classes at Stonewall; was a barber in Quitman. Near his home, he
stepped off the truck on which he was riding before it came to a halt. His death followed
injuries thus received.
Funeral services held from Pleasant Grove Baptist church. Survivors - wife, Mrs. Mary
