Born in Philadelphia, MS, daughter of the late Claude and Sarah MAYO. Resident of Rome for 20 years; member of First United Methodist Church. Prior to retirement in 1977, teacher at West Rome High School for 18 years. Former resident of Quitman and attended Quitman school. Survivors include husband, Walter SMIDERSKI; one daughter, Miss Sarah Jean SMIDERSKI, Denver, CO; one son, Robert W. SMIDERSKI, Athens; three sisters, Mrs. Geraldine CARTER, Tupelo, MS; Mrs. Mary Ann SMITH, Mrs. Mildred OWEN, both of Birmingham, AL; three brothers, Jeff MAYO, Hattiesburg, MS; James O.
