Choctaw County ) To the Honorable B. H. WARREN, Judge of Probate....
Petitioner D. H. RANEY...represents P. L. GILBERT died in or about the
year 1863, an inhabitant of this county and that his son Platinous D. GILBERT, was
appointed Administrator....P. D. GILBERT departed this life in and during the month
of October 1877, without making a final settlement of his administration of said
estate....your petitioner thinks it is necessary....to have further administration of
said estate...names of heirs unknown to your petitioner....only assets of said estate
is lands belonging to same...your petitioner asks your honor to grant him order
appointing him Administrator of said P. L. GILBERT estate.

the General Admr. ) Filed Jan 23rd, 1878
To the Honorable B. H. WARREN.....Petition of O. B. GILBERT....
represents....that Pleasant L. GILBERT...died intestate in said county....latter
part of 1862; Letters of Administration...granted...8th day of Dec. 1862 to
P. D. GILBERT, who assigned said trust without any official act and that on the
23rd of said month, Letters again granted said estate to I. C. (or J. C.) ELKINS,
who was accidentally drowned in the year 1863....afterwardsm Letters of
Administration granted again to P. D. GILBERT, who sold some of the lands and
they were paid for...balance of land was never paid for....money still remaining
unpaid by purchaser. Daniel H. RANEY purchased a portion of land, for which
he has never paid and he is now a large debtor to estate....six to eight hundred
dollars. P. D. GILBERT departed this life October 1877, without making a final
settlement of his administration of said estate....petitioner requests Letter of
Administration not be granted to Daniel H. RANEY, because he is a large debtor
to said estate; instead, appoint Edward McCALL, who has no interest in said
estate.

county & state: Your petitioner, D. H. RAINEY, Administrator de bonis non of estate
of P. L. GILBERT, deceased, has received no assets of decedent as all has been
disposed of as far as your petitioner is informed, so he can file no account to make
a settlement and wishes to be relieved of any further charge or trouble...renders
resignation; asks your honor to grant him an order accepting his resignation and
discharge him from further liability.
